Our Mission

Through initial basic clinics to advanced theory of the game, we teach fundamental training to advanced techniques of umpiring to ensure quality and professionalism on the playing field.  Training provided includes the solid understanding of rules along with teaching the theory and implementation of field mechanics.  We train through repetitive scenarios and fundamental drills to complete the understanding of “making the call”.

What kind of games are there?

As an official in The Umpire CRU family of umpires, you can expect a mixture of games from the East Coast Tournaments, LI Hot Stove and various outside leagues. We also cover huge tournaments across the Island.

What is the pay?

The games range in pay from $60.00 to $90.00, depending on the league and the age of the players.

How do I get assigned to games?

All games are assigned through the Arbiter Assigning system. As long as you check your e-mail at least once per day, you will remain an official in good standing. You will receive games just about every day you are available. Your availability must also be kept up to date.

What are the costs for me?

The insurance fee (for the entire year) is $100.00. Your initial costs would also include the purchase of shirt and cap. There are no other fees.

How many games can I work?

If you have the availability to work one game per season or 300 games, this is the place for you.

We treat our officials as a family and are ALWAYS busy. Come join our family.
